Epson TM-U220A Ticket Printer
The 200 series of EPSON points matrix printers was set years ago as the World Standard Fact for the POS segment and is compatible with almost all software packages. The current version TM-U220 has been reviewed and optimized once again. It is the result of a decade of Epson experience as a market leader in the field of cash register printers. Two different versions (A and B) offer the appropriate equipment for each application. Version A is equipped with an automatic cutter and a collection reel for coal copy. Version B has an automatic cutter and can be attached to the walls if necessary. According to the area in which the printer is used, whether gastronomy, hospitality, specialized trade and retailer or administration, simply select the version that best suits your individual needs.
Both versions print receipt on standard paper at high speed of 6 lines per second. While the predecessor model TM-U210 was only compatible with a paper width, the TM-U220 processes three different widths: 57.5, 69.5 and 76.0 mm. This means not only greater flexibility for the user, but also a cost savings, since the narrower rolls are respectively cheaper.
When it comes to printing receipts at the ATM, the speed is what has the most. That is why Epson has increased further the speed and performance of printers. With a paper width of 76.0 mm and 40 characters per line, the TM-U220 prints at a speed of 4.7 line per second; With 30 characters per line, this is equivalent to 6.0 lines per second. Thanks to the simple handling of the paper, the roll of receipts is changed in seconds with one hand.
The paper cutter of the TM-U220B offers two options: According to the requirements, the user selects between "full cut" and "cut from a point to the left". While the first carefully separates the entire receipt, the second does not cut the receipt completely from the roll, so it still remains connected to it. This feature offers advantages above all in those areas of commerce where the customer generally does not want to take the receipt, or also in the context of a cooking printer.
As with TM-U210, TM-U220 prints receipt optionally in two colors, black and red. In this way, logos or special offers stand out effectively. In this way, it generates receipt with surplus value and saves costs for additional marketing actions, such as printed commercial brochures or stamps. Last but not least, the TM-U220 offers two data memories: the memory of the 8 KB user and the 128 kb logo memory for a faster printing of logos and graphics.
The compatibility with older models is also guaranteed with the TM-U220: it can easily replace the TM-U210 by its successor, without having to adapt the POS software to the new receipt printer. The wide selection of interfaces guarantees simple integration in all existing systems. The appropriate power supply unit is included in the TM-U220 supply package and can be integrated into the casing without losing a lot of space.
